The Pic du Midi is a volcanic plug that dominates the surrounding French and Spannish Pyrennes.
The comfy Refugio du Pombie with the peak beyond. The route, about 15 pitches with some 5.9, goes up the shaded face to the right of center.
Low on the route, perfect weather, the Refugio can be seen below by the small lake.
A series of 5.9 dihedrals midway up the route. Excellent rock.

Near the summit. The descent route was devious but we made it back to the Refugio in time for dinner.
